About ClickUp
ClickUp is a cloud-based work management platform. Its main app brings together tasks and projects, docs and wikis, chat, whiteboards, calendars, dashboards, time tracking, sprints, forms and automations, and it is aimed at teams that would rather run their work in one tool than in several. Its site shows use cases for projects, marketing, product and engineering, IT, HR and leadership, and says millions of teams use it.
The company was founded in 2017 by Zeb Evans and Alex Yurkowski, started as an internal tool before its public release, and moved its headquarters to San Diego, California in January 2020. ClickUp says its people also work in Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia, and it opened offices in Dublin and Sydney in 2021. The product has a free plan with no time limit, and paid plans are billed per user.
ClickUp raised $35 million in Series A funding in June 2020, $100 million in December 2020 and $400 million in Series C in October 2021 at a reported $4 billion valuation. It cut about 10 percent of its workforce in July 2023, announced a further 22 percent reduction in May 2026, acquired the search tool Slapdash in 2022 and the AI coding platform Codegen in December 2025. The company states that it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications and complies with GDPR and HIPAA.
