About Papaya Global

Papaya Global was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in New York, with offices in the United Kingdom, Israel, Ireland, Poland, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Spain, Ukraine and the United States. It started as a payments-first platform for paying employees and contractors worldwide and has developed into a workforce management suite covering global payroll, Employer of Record services, contractor management, benefits and immigration, equity administration and cross-border payments on its own payment rails. It acquired UK money transfer firm Azimo in 2022.

The central product is global payroll for companies that already own entities, which the company says covers 180-plus countries, with automated calculations, local compliance monitoring, one approval workflow and consolidated multi-currency reporting. Employee payments, statutory payments and vendor payouts all run through the same platform. The Employer of Record product uses the same payroll engine for customers without local entities, and contractor management handles agreements, invoicing and payments for contingent workers.

Published starting prices are around $29 per employee per month for multi-country payroll, from $499 per employee per month for Employer of Record and from $5 per contractor per month for contractor management, with enterprise pricing negotiated individually. Headcount is reported in the 800 to 1,000 range depending on the source and year.
