Companies Radar

How the Website Score works

Each company profile on Companies Radar can show a Website Score from 0 to 100. It sums up signals we can check – whether the website runs on the company's own verified domain, whether it is online and secure, and how complete the profile is. It is not a rating of the company's products or service, and it is not a recommendation.

Website Score signals and points
Up toSignalWhat earns the points
20Verified domainOur Website Scanner found the website online on its own domain, with valid HTTPS and no safety warning, at its last check; or the company proved it controls the domain (a DNS record or an e-mail address on the domain), or our team verified it.
15Website onlineOur Website Scanner reached the website at its last check (half the points while a recent check failed), or our team confirmed it in the last 90 days.
10Valid SSL certificateThe website uses HTTPS with a valid, unexpired certificate, or our team confirmed it in the last 90 days.
25Profile completenessShare of the profile that is filled in: descriptions, website, country, category, logo, founding year, size, contact details, social links and products.
5Social linksLinks to the company's own social profiles (two or more for full points).
15Claimed profileA representative of the company manages the profile; full points once the claim was verified.
6ViewsHow often the profile is viewed (logarithmic, 10,000 views for full points). Popularity, not trust – kept low.
4SharesHow often the profile is shared (logarithmic, 100 shares for full points). Popularity, not trust – kept low.

Ground rules

  • Paid plans and advertising never change the Website Score.
  • Our team can confirm or reject the domain, website or certificate signals by hand, always with a recorded reason and never because of payment. A confirmation of the website or certificate lasts 90 days.
  • Views and shares show popularity, not trust, so they count for little.
  • Our Website Scanner checks each website regularly. A website that fails is marked only after three failed checks on different days, so a short outage does not lower the score for long.
  • The score updates automatically when a profile or a check changes, and at least once a day.
