About Smartsheet

Smartsheet is a cloud work management platform built around spreadsheet-style sheets. Teams use it to plan projects and portfolios, track work in grid, Gantt, calendar, board and timeline views, automate workflows and approvals, collect input through forms, and report through dashboards and unlimited reports. The platform also offers AI features such as formula generation, smart columns and an AI dashboard builder, connects with services including Slack, Microsoft Teams and Salesforce, and ships mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Smartsheet Inc. was founded in 2005 by Maria Colacurcio, Brent Frei and Eric Brown, first under the name Navigo Technologies, and the product was released publicly in 2006. The company states that it has over 3,000 employees and is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. For the fiscal year ended January 31, 2024 it reported revenue of $958 million.

The company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2018 under the ticker SMAR. In September 2024, Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners agreed to buy it for about $8.4 billion in cash at $56.50 per share, and the acquisition closed in January 2025, taking Smartsheet private again. Its plans run from Pro for small teams through Business and Enterprise to an Advanced Work Management offering for large portfolios.
