About greytHR

greytHR is the HR and payroll software brand of Greytip Software, a company based in Bengaluru. Its cloud platform handles employee records, onboarding and exit workflows, leave and attendance, payroll with Indian statutory deductions such as PF, ESI, PT, LWF and TDS, expense claims, recruitment and performance reviews. Employees use a web portal and a mobile app to view payslips, apply for leave, submit tax declarations and download Form 16.

Greytip was started in Bengaluru in 1994; around 2010 its main product was an HR suite called Folklore HRIS, and the company says it has offered greytHR as a cloud product since 2009. The website reports more than 33,000 customer companies and over 3.5 million employees in more than 30 countries. Alongside the software it runs greytHR Academy for HR training, a community forum and compliance reference content, and it has added an AI assistant, greytHR NAVOS, to its paid plans.

Besides the Bengaluru head office, greytHR lists offices in Chennai, Noida, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Dubai. In August 2024 Apax Digital Fund II agreed to take a majority stake (reported as 52.1 percent) through a mix of primary and secondary investment, which greytHR described as its Series F round.
